My TV arrived about a week ago and I'm a bit disappointed by the picture quality on most channels. Only on HD channels am I impressed. On normal channels it's below average. If you could please explain what the possible reasons could be in as simple terms as possible and what I can do about it. I'm not technically gifted so please keep it simple for me. Also on a side note I got something with the TV. That seems to mean to fit to the TV but I don't know where. It says common interface 5v only on it. I don't know if it's related but id like to know what it does also. Thanks in advance for your help

HI @Lawrencepa, The pre installed settings are not necessarily the best, therefore you should try a few tweaks to improve the quality. Generally the picture mode movie or standard is best, Dynamic will be more vibrant but certain colours will be exaggerated and it's not as the director intended. If desired you can push up the brightness and backlight setting. The Auto Motion settings can reduce judder/blur but at higher settings will give you soap opera effect (super smooth images) generally best to have a low setting or switch it off. As a general guide you could look at recommomded settings from experts on the MU6100 model whuch is pretty close to your TV (not much specifically on the 6120) httpshttps://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/mu6100/settings://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/m... You may need to play about a bit till you get settings which suit yourself, having said that you have an entry UHD model and it may be that SD is not upscaled significantly. You may prefer Auto or Native for Colour space settings, a bit involved with custom mode.
The common interface device is for CAM (conditional access models) cards that decode digital signals for pay TV services, however sure this is not used in much in UK now though different in rest of Europe(someone can correct me if I'm wrong) hhttp://www.samsung.com/uk/support/tv-audio-video/what-is-ci-common-interface-plus-and-how-does-a-ci...Used to be available for Top Up Tv service in past but but Bt,Freesat,Sky and Virgin do not use this system, only their Boxes/Dish..Freeview can be picked up directly. on Tv. Possibly could be used if you had some system for international channels.
I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

I bought the curved tv, and i sent it back after a few weeks because the picture quality was not there. Really happy with the 4k picture, but that was it to be honest and i even played around with the picture settings without any joy. Loved the look of the curved on my living room wall, but that was it to be fair.
Upgraded to the MU7000, which i must say so far i am impressed with it, but had to pay a little extra for this but it was worth it.
