Good day, I have just acquired a 43” Q60A QLED 4K HDR Smart TV (2021) and while very pleased with this , I was surprised to find the subtitles didn’t show when I streamed media from my Western Digital MyCloud Drive, am I doing something wrong or is there another setting, the tv says the subtitles are on in tv support but it is greyed out

any help appreciated

regards Colin

Are you referring to subtitles embedded in the media file or those that use .srt files?

If the former, when the movie is playing and you see the on-screen controls to select pause etc, select the cog and select subtitles to on.

Seems a lot of people have this problem. One solution is to open the srt file in notepad and save as unicode. Please can you test?

Have tried this, the file was already unicode, tried unicode with BOM, no joy.

From what I have been reading few software packages work. Try serviio as your server
