I have a UE49MU7000 television, and I now find that I get no sound from my Blu-ray player - BD-E5500

I have tried changing HDMI cables, and teh different HDMI ports - just receiving picture.

I have made sure taht sound setting on both devices are set the same (i.e. PCM)

Other HDMI devices (Youview box, Now TV box) play audio without any problems,

Both TV and Bluray has  latest  firmware installed.

I have tested teh Bluray player with another TV, and audio plays fine !

Is this Samsung's way of making sure you buy new equipment, by updating the firmware, that disables audio from their Bluray players ?

Hi, did you ever get a fix for this?  I have exactly the same issue.

Thanks.

received no response from Samsung - tried resetting both TV and Blu-ray, and nothing - just the picture.

Tried different HDMI cables and HDMI ports and nothing - just the picture.

resorted to using the Blu-ray player  on an old TV - working without problems.

TV is under guarantee, so intend to contact Samsung stating that the TV is at fault

I had the same issue and I fixed by disabling the option HDMI UDH Color for the hdmi input where I connect the bluray and it works fine with DTS or dolby 5.1 now.

My setup is a bluray bd-e5500 and a tv samsung UN55MU7000.

Thank you Caipivara, this fixed it for me, spent ages changing audio settings on the blu-ray player and TV only to find it was a display setting causing it.
