After the last Update and the issues it caused I have turned off Automatic Updates.

Just had a message asking me to allow a new update, I have declined update until I have more information.

Does anyone know what it is for ?

Does it work ?

Thanks

I just don't see them spending the resources to add HDR+.  I mean, the format barely has support as it is.

It would be nice though, but heck we didnt even get itunes app.

From what i saw my tv mu8000/75 is capable hdr10 but not hdr10+ yet.

I can see st 2084 on the tv which = hdr10  (1280.5 firmware).

only st2094=hdr10+  waiting for this update....

You are absolutely right only ST.2094 equals to HDR10+. No ST.2094 , no HDR10+.

Afaik implemented by update 1250.5 . From wikipedia this info:

HDR10+

HDR10+, also known as HDR10 Plus, was announced on April 20, 2017, by Samsung and Amazon Video. HDR10+ updates HDR10 by adding dynamic metadata that can be used to more accurately adjust brightness levels on a scene-by-scene or frame-by-frame basis.[46][47][48] This function is based on Samsung application SMPTE ST 2094-40 Application #4.[49][31][50][46][47][48] HDR10+ is an open standard and is royalty-free; it is supported by Colorfront's Transkoder and MulticoreWare's x265.[46][47][48] A certification and logo program for HDR10+ device manufacturers will be made available with an annual administration fee and no per unit royalty.[51] An authorized test center conducts a certification program for HDR10+ devices.[51]

On August 28, 2017, Samsung, Panasonic, and 20th Century Fox created the HDR10+ Alliance[52] to promote the HDR10+ standard.[53] HDR10+ video started being offered by Amazon Video on December 13, 2017.[54] On January 5, 2018, Warner Bros. announced their support for the HDR10+ standard.[55] On January 6, 2018, Panasonic announced Ultra HD Blu-ray players with support for HDR10+.[56] On April 4, 2019, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment announced a technology collaboration with Samsung Electronics to release new titles mastered with HDR10+.[57]

Some information on Blu rays featuring HDR 10 +

https://news.samsung.com/global/samsung-electronics-and-universal-pictures-home-entertainment-announ...

https://highdefdiscnews.com/tag/hdr10-plus/

Whilst Universal will  embrace both HDR10+ and Doby Vision,   both formats will not be universally supported on every disc.  Worth noting that only certain  Blu Ray Players will support both formats in any case.

I'm not sure what your post is suggesting.  Are you saying that 1250.5 implimented ST2094?   My mu8000 with the latest firmware doesn't list ST2094 in my menu.  It shows BT1886 and ST2084, but, no ST2094

Nowhere in that post says anything about HDR10+ so I don't know why he says that ir was implemented on update 1250. Useless post.

Hi , no info is useless. Can you give one model or series from samsung in 2017 , 2018 , 2019 , where you can read the "update" ST2094 in gamma.
