Purchased this model in October 2016, now YouTube not available. any suggestions on how to overcome this problem?

Should still be available for your model @RRW.
If it's not appearing in the Smart Hub, or in a search (Home > magnifying glass) then try a Smart Hub reset: Settings > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub.
