Mirroring from iOS to Samsung TV

There are so many (it seems) options of mirroring from iOS to a Samsung smart tv - and nothing I have tried so far has worked

The latest effort is SmartThings - but when I ask to search for devices, it spins forever before showing my tv. BUT selecting the tv allows me to CONTROL it from my iPad. It does not allow me to mirror from iPad to tv

What do I need to do? I feel this ought to be simple ☹️☹️

sharing from ios to android based devices holds many compatibility issues and problems.

apple designed apple tv for sharing content from there devices to other hardware. another reason I'm not a big ios/apple fan. The DRM management makes it virtually impossible to share content to other hardware without another piece of apple certified accessory or hardware
