Solved: HDMI Arc and Optical Connections

anyone know what the audio passthrough specs are on samsung tv (ue55ju7000txxu) hdmi arc and digital optical connections are? dolby 5.1 etc? or are they just basic stereo outputs? i need to connect a soundbar and i am unsure if the tv will output digital/hd audio etc.

Your UE55JU7000TXXXU is unable to “Pass through” Dolby Digital signals. It is capable of outputting a Dolby Digital signal from its internal tuner or Apps as this does not require Re-Encoding.

This means you will need to connect any external device to your sounbar directly to receive 5.1 sound.
