I have been trying to upgrade my firmware on the above TV, but the download from Samsung is version 1410, which I already have installed. I tried this via the USB stick method too. My browser is so old it is unusable. I also can't use some apps properly. Is there something else I need to do?

Hi  @Sean1875  1410 is definitely the latest firmware curently available  for this model.   Can you try and update the apps concerned https://www.techjunkie.com/update-apps-samsung-smart-tv/      Otherwise an idea is to power cycle the TV  by holding down power button for 5 seconds or alternatively disconnect from mains for 30 seconds.   However you may need to reset your router/Smart Hub and/or Factory Reset.   Some information here https://www.samsung.com/support/troubleshooting

Samsung Support contact dtails here if further assistance needed https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/UE65HU8500LXTK/

Hi James, thanks for the response. I have checked and all apps are the latest version. I find that the web browser has difficulty playing any video content. I have also been informed by technical support from some tv channel apps that my "platform is no longer supported".  I had tried samsung support over the weekend but no one was available to assist. I'll try again next week. Sean

I should have added that I also tried the power cycle, although I had used that trick recently for an unrelated issue.

@Sean1875  ok thanks for that information Sean, pity if some apps no longer supported - hopefully you have some satisfaction with Support.   As far as the web   Browser goes  Flash Player is no longer supported and there is a limitation on HTML5.  More detail in this thread https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tv/internet-browser-cant-play-video-now
