I’ve had this Samsung smart tv for a year and a half. Deaf person in the family, so we use captions ALL the time. When the captions didn’t work on streaming tv, someone said to unplug tv from the wall for 5 minutes, and IT WORKED! Voila!

@mmarkidis yes resetting by unplugging for around 5 minutes can solve some issues. Just thought I would point out that there is a slight difference between closed captions and subtitles. As well as a transcript of the dialogue CC also describes background noises and other audio cues.
Whilst many streaming services will have either CC or subtitles, for some programmes they may not be available.
