Coloured vertical lines

I have a UE46f6740 television- the screen suddenly went black and has coloured vertical lines on the left side- I cannot access any menus, sources etc as it stays black. I still however have sound.

I have  switched off power and restarted then have to manipulate hdmi to get sound back

what is the issue

Sorry to hear issue you're facing ..

When the TV screen turns black but with the audio still being heard, try shining a flashlight at an angle close to the screen and check if you can see images at all.

If you can then there's a backlight problem i.e. the backlight LEDs are being turned off for some reason, faulty power board or mainboard perhaps.

You could also try rebooting tv by pressing and holding power button for about 5 seconds or more

Another idea is to unplug the Tv and unplug at the wall for 30 seconds before trying again, to see  if that makes any difference.   check that all the connections are secure in case any issue with cabling.

However if the checks  mentioned by  us all do not yield results may well be a hardware fault, particularlty if picture Test fails.

Hi Thanks for responding . I cannot access any menus . The screen is now a dull light blue colour with sound but no images or menus. I have unplugged my sky HDMI and it makes no change to screen .

i have tried restarting unplugging etc and it makes no difference
