Cannot pair smart remote with new Samsung TV T5300

i have a new Samsung TV T5300 - it works fine. I am trying pair a silver samsung smart remote but pressing the Play and Back buttons simultaneously does not work. Any ideas? I have change the batteries and reset it. It works fine to turn the set off and on but nothing else.

Hi @nick1 Are you pressing and holding the Return and Play/pause buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds  whilst pointing at the sensor on the TV?

If still issues can you unplug from mains for a few minutes and then try again?

Thanks James but it transpires ( can you believe it ? ) that this premium TV doesn't come with ANY bluetooth connectivity so no chance of making any Smart Remote work with it. What next - no power cable or HDMI ports. Really disappointing from Samsung.
