Hi everyone,
Sorry if my understanding is wrong. I have a ue55hu8500 from 2014, which has served us well, and is still a great TV. However, our house is moving towards smart house stuff, and I would love to get the TV working. The ue55hu8500 is incompatible with the SmartThings app (frustrating since the TV is clearly very powerful and competant in other ways, and I'm sure it would be capable of such integration if supported). I am not too familiar with the samsung TV ecosystem, we have the screen and a 'one connect' box connected to it, I believe. Would it be possible to simply upgrade the box to a newer model to gain SmartThings app integration, so I could then use Alexa with the TV? And if so, where would I look to buy such a box online? I have tried researching this topic, but I am struggling to get a foothold in understanding the relationship between the box and the screen itself.
Many thanks in advance,
Aaron

Hey @dotdioscorea ,
I am glad to hear that you would like to add your TV to your smart house stuff. Keep in mind that every TV only works with its own One Connect Box so this cannot be replaced with a different one, I'm afraid.
