Can I record live TV onto USB?

Hi, 

We have the Samsung 50 Inch UE50AU8000 Smart 4K Crystal UHD HDR TV.

We want to record live TV, we have plugged in a usb stick, and googled but cannot get it to work.

Does this TV have this function? Really hope so as we bought it to be sleek and no wires! 

any help greatly appreciated - were not the most tech savvy so please go easy 🤣🤣

I think it only works with a hard drive , so one cable from the hard drive the USB goes in to the TV, and the second cable from the hard drive goes in to a separate power socket, not TV
USB stick is just to play back films or music of mp3, avi, flac, mkv and so on.
Do not use TV to power a hard drive
