Burning smell from tv

We've only had our 65" 4k curved Samsung TV for 5 years and yesterday it started making a horrible burning smell. We even had the fire department come.

As I started searching for more info, I found others having similar issues with Samsung TVs. Any resolution or is this tv "fried"? I really don't want to have to buy a new TV but if I do, it surely won't be a Samsung.

I have a Samsung TV ue55k6500au.

Had it for about 5 years.

No started to hear popping sound, screen display got corrupted and it started to smell smoking /burning plastic.

I took it out of electricity scaring it will explode or something...

Any suggestions?

I have just noted same issue. Samsung curved TV 'dead' bar some flashing on screen. Smell of burning plastic. I've unplugged but this is serious. What do Samsung suggest?

In this case, you would need to speak to our friends from Samsung US. You can find their contact details here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/contact/

I'd strongly suggest you don't use the TV until they've looked at your issue.
