Hi, I was watching a movie last night, when i started smelling burned plastic. At first I wasn't sure where it was coming from. As the smell got stronger, I realized the smell was coming from inside my Sumsung television. I quickly turn the power off and disconnect it from the wall. Anyone having similar issues? I take good care of my stuff this is a manufacturer issue, I have noTV now.

Ah, okay. In that case, I'd recommend reaching out to Samsung Customer Support in your region, as they'll be able to assist you with this: http://www.samsung.com/global/support/globalcontact.html

I was wondering if this has moved on at all....
I had the same issue - 4 year old TV, started smoking and burning smell. Samsung took it away and now want to charge me for repairing it, even though it could have burned down my house! I've asked them to return it unrepaired and I am going to do my best to make their horrendous lack of customer service go viral. They wouldn't answer my question about how long they expected one of their TV's to last, just kept repeating that it was out of warranty and apparently there is no escalation process if we are unhappy with the offered solution??

WOW! I can't believe this thread. My mum who's in her 70s and lives on her own has had exactly the same thing happen. She could smell burning and couldn't work out where it was coming from. She wandered around the room trying to work it out then realised it was coming from the back of her Samsung television. She unplugged it as it was burning hot on the back and the stench filled the house. She left the windows open but could still smell it the next morning. She plugged it in the next morning and it seemed ok but then within a few minutes the smell started again. I've told her to unplug it and not put it on again. It's a UE40F5500AK. I can't believe when i googled samsung tv burning smell just how many posts there are about this, it's really shocking. It's very worrying as she lives on her own and god knows what could have happened if she had been in a different room when it started. I can't believe just how many forum posts on here and google there are about this issue with Samsung televisions burning.
