BBC iPlayer crashing

I can't watch anything on BBC iPlayer app - TV model UE43RU7100 (2019), BBC app version 1.1.40. You can select a programme and then it just crashes

I've had the exact same problem. On live chat I was asked to change the D.N.S setting on the TV and it worked... Once ... I read on another thread here about the beta version of the iPlayer app. I switched to it and (fingers crossed) it's working again. Might be worth a try. If it doesn't work you can simply switch back to the normal version

I found that if I wait for several seconds on the account select page and then again before playing  the first program it will work from then on.   A pain.

I'd forgotten about this thread as I gave up trying to get it to work. Using the beta version did work but only for a short while. It's less than useless on the TV so we use the player on our Manhattan PVR. Works every time. I've lost all hope on Samsung (I presume it's their problem) ever releasing an update to fix it

Just tried this and it seems to work. At least for the first time anyway. I will continue to try this method.

This ISNT a solution. This is a workaround. Can we have a fix where i never have to come running down the stairs on a daily basis to fix this please?
