TV: UE55 NU7500
I'm not sure whether this is a general Samsung issue or just to do with my TV, but the amount of space allocated to the Smart Hub apps seems to be seriously lacking.
As this is a new TV I thought I'd explore some of the available apps, but when I went into the Apps area I got a message saying that there was insufficient space to update apps. This was before I had downloaded anything, so it would purely apply to the pre-installed apps.
I checked settings and the used space was 751MB with 64MB available, i.e. 7%. This seems absurd as these apps can't be deleted and are built into the system. The available space doesn't even allow them to be updated. I then tried resetting Smart Hub. This has helped to an extent as the available space is now 13%. However, it's still far too low and whenever I try and download a new app I get a warning about available space.
I can't believe that the pre-installed apps are taking around 700MB of space, and it seems crazy that Samsung would design the system this way. Presumably I will have to install an SD card to provide more space for the apps?
Any tips welcome as this is my first Samsung TV.

This is just crazy, did they really think by just turning off auto updates would solve the issue?!
Still waiting on my board to be replaced...at least they confirmed work will be carried at home.

JL just called and said they spoke to Samsung who'd send out their own engineer to have a look....man this is going nowhere...i am on call with Samsung, a lady who is checking their side....they want me to book it in for repair again, i'm reluctant....i am like this is a common issue, why dont u take back the TV and give me my money back...

To add insult to injury, I've just noticed on my NU7400 that Samsung have forced the Apple Music app to be installed, therefore taking up MORE of the storage that isn't there! It's another one that cannot be deleted too.
What an absolute farce.

Let them keep adding apps and let it eat up all the space, given the way this is being handled, i am now all in for getting rid of the TV, not going to buy another Samsung, also i will not allow them to delete the manual as my wife needs it (plus it was there when i bought it), if they want to add space they need to find another way...

Let them take it again. Do everything that JL request or its their getout clause for your consumer rights. And your right for a refund
Personally, I told the engineers and JL that if they didn't physically add more storage, it wasn't as described. Plus I wasn't going to have this aggravation for the entire 5 years of warranty
Also, not letting it auto update makes your TV a security risk on your home network

I dont think there is a way other than to use an external storage or use somthing like a fire TV stick, however i'd say start bugging the retailer as its them who should have thought about this in the first place. I am trying to get JL & Samsung to play ball and sort it out.

Samsung sold me direct a 1500 smart art TV that is lacking in stotage space. Not happy they need to update software to allow there forced apps to be stored on a USB. They could even make the USB mandatory when in Smart mode. I have 1% again with the only non mandatory app BT sport. I am on the Verge of sending this TV back.
