Apps storage space issue

TV: UE55 NU7500

I'm not sure whether this is a general Samsung issue or just to do with my TV, but the amount of space allocated to the Smart Hub apps seems to be seriously lacking.

As this is a new TV I thought I'd explore some of the available apps, but when I went into the Apps area I got a message saying that there was insufficient space to update apps. This was before I had downloaded anything, so it would purely apply to the pre-installed apps.

I checked settings and the used space was 751MB with 64MB available, i.e. 7%. This seems absurd as these apps can't be deleted and are built into the system. The available space doesn't even allow them to be updated. I then tried resetting Smart Hub. This has helped to an extent as the available space is now 13%. However, it's still far too low and whenever I try and download a new app I get a warning about available space.

I can't believe that the pre-installed apps are taking around 700MB of space, and it seems crazy that Samsung would design the system this way. Presumably I will have to install an SD card to provide more space for the apps?

Any tips welcome as this is my first Samsung TV.

We need to find more people in Greece for a collective complaint.

Georgek1

Thank you for the link,  it's understandably in Greek with what looks like a fax number.

I am happy to give my name telephone number to you off site if you would be good enought to add me with your complaint,

As we stand.  Once we are at least 7 we need to organise ourselves.  More than 7 people will be necessary - much more but this is a start.

I can offer my block for starters.

Dear Friends,

I'm new to this forum and before we kickstart the process I wanted to make sure the infrastructure works well.

We have the 7 people to initiate the process. I just wanted to confirm that at the time all of us are EU citizens - anyone living in the UK is still part of the EU.

Our number needs to increase if this is going to be effective but together we can coordinate to make that happen. 🙂

I also propose that we setup a contact network outside Samsung's domain. While we still should use this forum because this is a natural landing zone for others to find us, we need to safeguard against Samsung taking retaliatory measures.

I propose a group on facebook. Problem is that I'm not very strong on social media. Anyone knows how to organise Facebook?

Regards,
Chris

Hello @Romainofthe02 ,

I don't speak French but have a number of French colleagues (and Google Translate) who can give us a hand with translations 🙂

Welcome.

Facebook isn’t great for this sort of thing, how about a proper forum which can contain faqs stickies files etc. I was looking at this site. https://www.createaforum.com/directory.php
Although a Facebook page would be useful to provide a link to the forum.

I've never used this site and don't have an opinion.  As long as we can retain a closed membership group it should work.

@Mikmac1 can you manage that please?

Let's agree on the name and if possible have this name run across all media sites we use.

This helps with Search Engines and helps others find us.

I propose "FixOurSamsung"
