Hi,

Hope someone can help.

I've got a new q85t 55 inch and I cant seem to get 4k tv streams via the Amazon Prime app. Has anyone else got this working?  Btw, I am definitely trying to stream from a series which has a uhd/4k version but whenever it plays is always 1080/sd.

Any suggestions or help appreciated.

Hi @Johnc123  There was an issue with the Prime app not updating on some older Tv's but frustrating if it is happening on more modern models.  https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tv/no-4k-uhd-for-amazon-prime-anymore/td-p/1851727   However just to double check that you have selected the 4k version but it is not playing in this format?  There will be two versions and the Prime app does not make it particularly easy to find 4k.      This was discussed a while ago here https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/tv/amazon-app-won-t-stream-in-4k-on-both-my-samsung-tvs/td-p/480...  though realise it may not be relevant in your case.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Cheers Paul, unfortunately I dont have any others sources available but I did try YouTube 4k which appeared to work fine. I can't get anything to stream via prime at 4k. It's also highly annoying that we cant see what the quality of the stream is we are watching.

I raised this with Samsung support this morning a they suggested speaking to Amazon which I thought was a cop out.

Anymore advice or suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

Cheers Paul, well if that's the case I'm gutted. Assume it to be a software fix needed so hope they sort it soon or I'll be returning the tv. You get that info on AVforums or somewhere else? Cheers

Hi James

Thanks for your note. It appears after removing and reinstalling Prime I *think* it's now working ok. It's pretty annoying there is not grouping/sub menus for 4k/UHD content and everything is just jumbled in together.

If I understand correctly UHD is 4k and if a stream is in Hdr10 then that's 4k/UHD, is that right?

Thanks again.
