I bought this 8K TV less than 2 years ago, it cost over £1200, the screen is now not working, I can't get it repaired because it needs a new screen, Samsung have discontinued this model, of course it's out of warranty so basically it's going in the skip, why would I buy another Samsung product?

To have whatever all singing and dancing at the point of purchase become obsolete and useless due to failure within a short period of time?
But good news, Samsung have released more all singing and dancing tech to buy in the meantime.
I feel your frustration.
My feelings are that modern tech items are short life products deliberately or due to limitations of components.
If they invent a high end TV that lasts a lifetime, what's in it for them.
I wonder how they would have gone if you had extended warranty, probably give you a voucher off another I expect.

This is the way of the modern world.

Unfortunately built that way these days and the life expectancy of tech is getting shorter according to many studies out there. It's called planned obsolescence, keeps the cash rolling in. Claim on your house insurance.
