Swipe gesture not working on galaxy tab a

My tablet is nolonger recognising swipe on the screen. So can't switch between screens and swipe up etc to access Apps.

Have installed latest software etc but nothing works. It's almost like it gets the initial touch but nothing else.

have you got a screen protector on it or are you using the Tab screen in direct contact with your fingers/a stylus?

Did have a screen protector but have now removed it and still will not work. Have tried also with a stylus and makes no difference.

Have explored settings in display and makes no difference

How old is the tablet? Is it still under warranty? If a factory reset doesn't help and it is still under warranty send it for repair. Otherwise you'll be looking at a new tablet for that issue
