My daughter is disabled and cannot speak. She suffers from spasms and cannot control her arm and hand lijke we can.
Until now she uses a Galaxy Tab A 10.5 with a real button on the short side to start her tablet. Then she can use the tablet for games, mail, browsing. This Tab A is getting old (SM-210?) , no updates on the OS (Android 7?)
Yesterday she bought an Galaxy Tab A8 with 32GB. In the shop the tablet would start up with ONE touch of the screen. All tablets and smartphones nowadays do not have a physical button on the screen side to start up (f.i. smartphones J3/J5 and Tab A 2016). So after short testing (switching off and on with one touch) she decided to buy it. The guy at the service desk (Smartbar) set up the tablet and assured us that this one touch startup is functioning. Returned home to find out that this ONE touch is not working, you need at least TWO quick touches on the screen to wake up the tablet. All possible settings tried but no effect.
Seems that only the DEMO mode in the shops show this quick startup, but the real normalday startup requires TWO touches on the screen. And NO the on/off button on the side is not doable for my daughter.
Question: is there a way to change the settings to ONE touch on screen to wake up?
