Sim card not detected on galaxy 3 P5200

Hi there, 

I'm getting a sim card not detected on device error message. I've googled and tried most suggestions without success. 

Is this error unique to myself or has anyone else encountered it? I'm at the point of sending it in for repairs or is there a common issue that's easily fixed?

I had this issue on a previous phone. I removed the card lightly cleaned the sim contact in case of dust and re inserted it and it worked. there could be a slight scratch on it that the eye can't see or dust. if all else fails maybe take to a phone shop and have it checked. Good luck
