Setting up echo dot speaker

Have recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G, and am trying to set up an echo dot speaker to work with it (via Bluetooth).

It wants me to sign into my Amazon account, so I can download the Alexa app from my app store. I have an Amazon account on my Windows desktop, perhaps that means I also have an app store, I don't know.

Anyway, I tried to sign into my Amazon account via the Galaxy tablet, filled in my email as requested, and it tells me that email is already in use, so I can't use it. Well of course it is already in use, it's the email I use for my Amazon account. I couldn't find a way round the tablet's refusal to accept that email.

I don't really want to set up an additional Amazon account just for my tablet, with a different email, password, and possibly ID as well. Multiple accounts etc starts to get a bit confusing.

So what should I do? Will the tablet insist on having its own Amazon account ID?

Incidentally, I also have a Poco M4 Pro mobile phone, which is partly Android, and which seems quite friendly with the tablet, though it keeps asking me to resume device setup.

Your tablet will be running Android but Samsung will modify; put their look on the device, but it should function as any other android device at it's core.

Maybe unplug the eco and plug it back in, maybe that might help, could you head to settings > bluetooth > then see if the eco is shown their and click it. If it gives you an error please take a screen or tell me what it says.

I attach a screenshot of settings > bluetooth, but the echo is not shown there. I do not know how to tell if the echo is in pairing mode or not.

The PR BT 2323 device shown may be next door (I live in a terraced house). I tried tapping on it to see what happened, it just says Couldn't connect.Settings Sceen no name_cr sm.jpg

Doe your eco show up within the Amazon Alexa app, or work on your phone ?

The eco does show up on one page within the Amazon Alexa app, but I can't get it to play anything (see screenshot). The tablet will play music, but not through the echo speaker. Tried a few times now, still won't play through the echo speaker.

The phone seems to have paired with the echo speaker, but I don't know how to get it to play music through the echo speaker (not that I have tried very hard), the phone just plays music through its own speaker.

The echo speaker is definitely powered up and switched on, or at least it does its light show.
