I have a Samsung tab a 2016 10.1 16gb tablet and I have had no more security updates since about March it is on January security and 8.1 oreo software will this tablet be getting anymore updates or is that it

What do you mean by only when Necessary because it is lagging behind and I'm now thinking of changing it because I will be open to more attacks because it's not up to date

Hi Jonh, as example, if a new virus or worm is destroying all the data they will make and send a security update to ALL the devices without exception, this is what i mean..

I have Avast antivirus Pro on my tablet so I'm not really scare  for my security..

If you change your tablet, consider the Tab S4 (the best one), don't buy tab S5e (wifi problem in landscape mode) and the tab S6 will be on the market SOON and if you are considering buying a book cover with magnet to close a screen, the Galaxy tab A 2019 can't support this feature...

Tab s4 I'm not paying over 500 hundred pound I was thinking of tab a same as mine which is the 2019 version at only 199 as I only use tablet for web browsing and that's it

You're the buyer, if you buy the Galaxy Tab A 2019,  you need to know than no Book Cover can't works to make the tablet sleeping when you close the cover, that's all. It's a good tablet
