Hello all I did a quick search and nothing came up. Trying to decide between these 2 tablets. I know there is a lot online about these 2 tablets but thought it best to bring this to the home of the gadgets.

So what would you guys chose between the 2 and what I really need is performance on top of anything else so your views are very much appreciated.

@marvi0@ Performance-wise the 2 tablets are largely the same, however the Tab S5e wins the day with its sleek design, sAMOLED display, an available 128GB model and price. Both have 64GB versions have 4GB RAM, while the 128GB version has 6GB, although it is worth mentioning that the S5e does not come with an S Pen stylus whereas the S4 does.

@marvi0

Hi, I already have a Galaxy tab S4  and i'm still asking myself if it was the best choice for me... If you think to work a lot with the S-Pen like drawing or taking notes even when th tablet is OFF, tablet S4 is a good choice.

If you make a lot of Office business and work with Office applications ,i read everywhere then Tab S4 is the better choice for multi-tasking.

If you want to listened music with headphones that need a jack, you have no choice take the Galaxy Tab S4

If you are a gamer, Galaxy tab S4 processor seems to be a bit better then S5e.

If you buy the Galaxy Tab S4, try to NEVER upgrade the Samsung Members application (save it to reinstall it before updating the tablet) because we cannot open it in Full Screen Mode since they make a new version

I don't know if they sell the 256 gigs version in your country but if you buy a tablet buy a minimum of 128 gigs to keep it for longer time....applications size are growing each week

If you make a lot of multimedia,i read everywhere then Tab S5e is the better choice

Tab S5e have a Wifi problem depending of the way you hold it in landscape mode, they are working on it now to resolve it. Some people have problem with the Cover Book of the Galaxy Tab S4 with Azerty FRENCH TYPING

I hope this help you a bit

🤔 Thanks for your detailed response. So it seems the best chance I have is to get the 128gb version of the S5e because in the UK unfortunately we only have the 64gb s4!

It depend, If you're only using it for Office usage and save everything on your SD card or on the cloud 64 gig is enough. You can compare both on https://www.gsmarena.com/ The only error is than NOW Samsung DEX is available on S5e

No thing is I use it for both work and play, games and office work so the memory issue is a deal breaker. I remember in the past you could apply a mode via adb for adoptable storage but I guess that's all gone now.

I think it's always there...in developpers option. Is this what you're talking about ?..My tablet is in french...you'll have to translate, I presume you still can install application by ADB/ADT mode but I never use this option so i don't really know if my answer is ok :thinking-face:

Now it's your turn to provide me informations :winking-face:

I have a New S5e a few days now, I went for the 128 Gig in order to have the 6 Gig Ram
I don't need all that space but I did want the extra Ram, the 64 Gig comes with 4 Gig Ram
I'm very pleased with it so far, I have a few niggles but nothing major, like the wildly fluctuating Wi-Fi signal depending on orientation & also putting your hand near the top left corner is very strange, I have an ageing Tab 2 that has a rock solid flat out signal no matter what I do with it.
If you can justify the extra expense then I think the Tab 4 will suit you better, it is more powerful even though the chipset etc is getting on a bit so I am told
