Select the Email app > 3 horizontal lines > All folders > Recycle bin > 3 dots > Edit > Select emails > Delete.

When I empty the email recycle bin on my Samsung A21s then swipe the screen the emails return. Also emptying the recycle bin on my phone does not delete the emails in my btinternet email account as it used to on my previous phone. Any ideas?

You probably set up your email account as POP3 instead of IMAP

am having same issues with a51, have tried to follow ChrisM advice but doesn't work emails deleted still reappear

every time I delete my recycle bin.within minutes it all comes back why.
