S5e tablet won't work on external DACs

Hi, does anyone have any idea why my S5e tablet won't work with either of my external DACs via USB?

My S8 plus works fine via USB. Same cable streaming music via USB cable. 

Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Would anyone be able to affirm an email I got from Harmony Hardware expressing that Samsung gadgets can just play music through a DAC (magic, dragonfly and so on.) if the music is put away locally on the gadget and not through Roon/Tidal and so forth.
