I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 tablet that I enjoy.  It is probably 4 or 5 years old but was working great.  The other evening, a message popped up that it was time to upgrade the software and that I could Install or schedule it.  I scheduled it for 1:00 am and went to sleep.

Now - my tablet is stuck in the initial boot screen with "Samsung Galaxy" and will not do anything else.  We even tried removing the battery....

Anybody have this happen to them?  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi,

Something certainly seems to have glitched.

I assume there was enough internal memory to complete the process.

If this was my situation I'd try a Hard Reset. Be aware this can and will delete saved information on the device.

Below is a step guide sourced from a Google Search.

"Back up data on the internal memory.
Press and hold the Power/Lock key, tap Power off , and then tap OK to turn off the tablet.
Press and hold the Power/Lock key and Up Volume key (closest to the Power/Lock key) at the same time.
Release the keys when the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 logo appears.
When the menu appears, press the Down Volume key to scroll to wipe data / factory reset .
Press the Power key to select.
Press the Down Volume key to scroll to Yes – delete all user data .
Press the Power key to select.
Press the Power key to select reboot system now ."

If that didn't work then I'd suggest to approach Samsung using their online chat or phone them or use Social Media.

Or if you have a Samsung Experience Store visit there.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "
