Hi all,

Sometimes on my devices I get an: wifi connected but no Internet connection message.

I see YouTubers changing the wifi settings. They change the IP settings and DNS settings. Is that even safe and what does it mean?

Thanks.

Hi

More about DNS :
https://uk.pcmag.com/security/138870/how-and-why-to-change-your-dns-server
But be careful on changing any settings.

Try to go settings > general management > reset > reset WiFi and Bluetooth settings

Try reseting your router.

@Jammy97 I would say be careful on the settings you do change.

Sometimes hard resetting the device and or a soft reboot by turning the device Off and On is enough.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

There's no need really to use static unless there's a need for other devices to look for that particular ip/dns name. normally you'd only have things like servers/printers set as static for that very reason.

For normal, everyday home use, DHCP is all you should use.

I'm not sure why my S24 Plus is in static and other devices are on DHCP. So should I change my IP settings to DHCP? Thanks.
