Lines on the side of screen since 2.1 update

Hi all , since the update there are light lines either side of the screen where you swipe to go back and for the side panel , how do I hide these as when you watch content they are visible on the screen and also on TV when I use Hdmi lead ? @BandOfBrothers  , any ideas ?
