Hi! I'm looking to buy an A9+ tablet, but before I do I just want to check that I will be able to use it for live translations i.e. select the camera button in Google Translate, point it at foreign text and it will augment the translation over the top.
I bought a new phone a year or so ago and that phone couldn't implement that feature on Google Translate!
Google say that it requires an "ARMv7" processor and an autofocus camera. I can see that the A9+ had the autofocus camera, and that it has a "Octa-core (2x2.2 GHz Kryo 660 Gold & 6x1.8 GHz Kryo 660 Silver)" but I have no idea how that compares to an ARMv7!
I think in theory it should work, but if anyone has one, could you confirm for me if this feature does work or not please?
I like the Google Translate app in particular as I don't need to be connected to the cellular network for it to work, so I avoid racking up roaming charges!
Thanks.

Google lens is different (although probably used similar underlying technology).
With the camera option in Google translate you can point the camera at something and it will translate on the fly without having to take a picture - as you move the camera around it detects and translates everything it can.
With Google lens you need to take a photo which it then analyses to find text, and offering there option to translate.
That's been my experience with it anyway!

Thank you! Just to be clear, is it Google lens that works or the live translate? Or both of course!
