Looking at the trade in values for the new S8 tabs, I noticed apple devices (e.g. iPad Pro) get a higher trade in value than samsung devices (e.g. S7+)  I appreciate Samsung are trying to attract users from competitors, but as an existing Samsung customer, I feel my loyalty is not valued as much.

Customers with equivalent products (in my humble opinion, an S7+ would be equal to and iPad Prod) should at least be offered the same trade in value (if not more to to reward loyalty to the brand). This probably applies to other trade in values for other devices like phones. I would be inerested to know if Samsung could explain the reasoning or if any other Samsung customers feels the same as me? thanks for reading.

Think it's to do with resale values.
Apple typically will have a higher resale price than other manufacturers. Samsung trade in devices will either be recycled or reconditioned. Which of course adds to costs.
Be nice if all was equal, but most of it is market driven.
