Why is the Qualcomm one greyed out? Is it to do with the phone not supporting it or my earbuds... which are the latest Sony WF-1000XM5. Says it's either phone or headset.... how do I find out?

Your sony earbuds only support SBC, AAC, LDAC but should support LC3 in the future. LC3 is in beta testing but only with sony phones at the moment.

It seems your Sony earbuds do not support other codecs at the moment that's why some of the options are greyed out.
