I have several air-conditioners. I have managed to connect all of them except one.

After putting the device in AP mode by holding the timer button, I try to switch to the "[room a/c] Samsung" wifi network from my iPhone. It has no trouble locating the network. I enter the password 1111122222, it tries to connect for a few seconds and then I get the message: Incorrect password for "[room a/c] Samsung". I have tried many times.

I have tried connecting to the network by selecting 'Other...' from the available wifi networks so that I can adjust the Security type. Then I type in the network name [room a/c] Samsung and set the security type to 'None' or WPA or any of the others, but I always get Incorrect security type for network "[room a/c] Samsung".

Is it possible the password has been incorrectly set for that device? Is there anything else I can try?

Hi @8ctopus

It sounds like this may be one for our SmartThings specialists. You can contact them directly here.

I finally solved this.

I somehow ended up on a screen on the app which informed me how to reset the wifi module. You can apparently reset the wifi module by holding down the two leftmost buttons on the remote control for 5 seconds. and waiting for a beep. Then do it again. Then do it a third time - the beep is supposed to be different the third time.

On models before 2018 such as mine, instead of the two left buttons, press the 'Set' button and the 'minus' button simultaneously. (The third beep did not sound different to me).

After that I could connect to the Samsung wifi, so I could get one step further, but it was still not discovering the device. I tried with my wife's phone (which had failed similarly before the reset) and it worked this time.

I have a central air condition from Samsung with a wi-fi module. With the old app Smart Air Conditioning CAC, from my telephone I could change the mode, increase or decrease the temperature and switch the unit on or off. When I was forced to change to the Smarttings app I found that I could only switch the unit on of off, I could not adjust the temperature or change the mode.
