Both to what Neo001 says and to be honest I don't think his phone would have survived that deep and long under water. Mental man

I would think that if it contains official data there would be encryption built in and the ability to block or wipe the phone remotely to prevent any data loss. I would have sent him to find the water he took out and tell him to put it back 🙂

Seems a little far fetched to me to do this !

If the locals couldn't locate the phone then why not try a trained scuba diving team  ?

Certainly was a dam  folly ! :smiling-face:   Apparently the official has been fined the equivalent of £518  (seems to got off lightly really)  https://www.coastfm.co.uk/news/world/senior-indian-official-fined-for-allowing-reservoir
