Samsung got so embarrassed with what they did that they blocked my video!

I can't understand how a company which produces the highest standard consumer electronics can't afford to put a shred of bubble foil (or it's paper equivalent) to secure their products while shipping.

I recently got my new S22 Ultra 5G directly from samsung.co.uk store. The phone was not secured at all. I made a video but it's "awaiting approval" for almost a week (Samsung probably got really ashamed by it's contents 🤣).

No problem at all, here are YouTube links:

Absolutely. Look at how the phone is packaged in the box - it is protected. What do you think bubble wrap on the outside of the box is going to add in that scenario? 😂 It might make you feel better, but adds cost and waste and in reality will protect the phone no more than the specially designed and form-fitting box.

It's well protected in the box, so unless the package is mishandled, it should be fine.

Maybe a jealous driver then 😂, Vodafone boxes by Design if they don't seal it properly the top opens easily Thats why I thought it was a Vodafone box.

Additional protection and amortisation against any fall or hit.

The phone should be OK, but that's not the point. The point is the level of service. And also, I got rather pissed of when they blocked that video in the other thread. It's still awaiting approval here.

It is very much the point because you don't have any argument. If the phone was damaged, it would have been different. Samsung is very much into the green thing and whether you subscribe to it or not everyone is reducing packaging.
I don't know what you mean about level of service, that hasn't been mentioned.
I think you are making something out of nothing.

I agree there, I don't see the point

Maybe the point is that his phone arrived safely and it didn't arrive in the huge Samsung box like everyone else

I find it unbelievable that with us coming out the other side of Covid, the Ukraine situation, the prospect of China invading Taiwan that someone complains that they don't like the packaging! Does anybody think this is untested by Samsung? They aren't going to want to replace the phones because they were damaged.

"Very much into the green thing" lmao. Ok. Samsung this year have sent me several products, all usually in the same giant box with little more than a black piece of sticky paper enclosing the top. Always in a giant, unsecured box that's taking up a stupid amount of space therefore reducing the amount of items that can be put into a delivery van. The huge space means the phone has plenty of space to be bashed about during transit which may not lead to any visible damage but could weaken some internals and the phone could stop working down the line. Could they not have just sent the phone but wrapped in something padded, anything? Paper or a cardboard mesh in a form fitting box. No. Giant box. Plastic wrap around it. Was sent the same box with my S21 Ultra, Buds Pro and Smarttag. That's 4 boxes/product packaging right there, bought the charger brick afterwards when in stock, another box within a box. 2 deliveries. I remember when you got the charger & earphones inside, now is all seperated.

But fundamentally I'm fine with the no charger, you'd be surprised to hear. But why did they release a brand new 45w charger this year? How many people will end up upgrading to that charger brick without even realising that it doesn't charge any faster than the 25w charger.

https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s22_series_45w_charging_doesnt_really_make_a_difference-news-5...

Going to entice many buyers who will find out the hard way that the 25w Charger charges all the same. Very environmental. Oh and the 50 tones of fishing nets used to create the S22 series. Literally the most minute amount constitutes the plastic in the phone. How much co2 was produced to make the nets usable? Why not have a situation where each phone purchase saves 1kg of nets from the world oceans instead? Greenwashing is all it is. They bundle so many unwanted products with some pre orders that people end up buying the product with the intention of selling the freebies on eBay to lower the price of the actual product they wanted to buy. And you guessed it, that will all be wrapped again, put in a box, and shipped across the country or beyond adding to carbon footprint. US deal was extra storage and store credit for the S22 Ultra. That's more akin to a deal that should be offered. The Galaxy Book Pro 360 5G pre order contained the most free stuff I've seen yet when it came out. A bluetooth mouse, smart trio keyboard, a multiport adapter and a monitor. That's 5 boxes and multiple deliveries worth of stuff. And because Samsung has a habit of making people claim for items now instead of bundling them together in the same shipment, it's more shipping, more packaging, more vans on the road.
