Hi,
Last week I bought the galaxy S23 (SM-S911B/DS). It should support the use of two physical sim cards (dual sim)
However when two sim cards are inserted, only SIM 2 is detected( sim slot 1 in the sim manager is grayed out and labeled "no sim card" )
- When I remove the sim card from sim slot 2, then the sim in slot 1 is recognized.
- When I reinsert the sim in slot 2, only this one is detected (sim in slot 1 is greyed out again)
- Swapping the sim cards has no effect on this
- No issues when testing both sim cards individually, or when used in another phone.
As sim slot 1 only fails to detect the sim when sim slot 2 is in use, I believe the sim is correctly inserted, and I think more of a software issue which is preventing me to use the phone in dual sim mode.
- The phone was bought from a legal shop and not imported from another region
- I tried several times to reboot the phone between the tests
- Software has been updated to the latest version
- No activated esim (Nor have I the option to use this feature)
What can I do to test this further? I really want to have two (physical) sim cards in my device.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Thomas
Update: Brought the device to a Samsung repair center. They replaced the complete sim/power module. Issue was solved after that. Duo sim is now possible
