Assistant with gestures

I can seem to access my Assistant when using navigation gestures. I used to be able to swipe up from the middle and hold and it would access Google Assistant, now all it does is vibrate and then nothing else happens. I've tried switching to navigation keys to see if the assistant works when holding down the home button, which it does so it is only an issue when using navigation gestures.

Has anyone else noticed this?

With the new One UI 2 gestures you have to diagonal swipe up from one of the lower edges and hold for a moment.

I found the problem
You must have the "Gesture hints" I active.
Then it will work with the old gestures.

Hi @rew82,

I've checked on my device and Google Assistant works on both options of Full screen gestures. Please report this issue through Beta Feedback in Samsung Members. Let's see what will the developers say.

You need to disable the gesture hints when trying the gestures.
Then assistant wont work.
