AOD screen on when notifications arrive

Is this normal...with AOD on, when a notification arrives and the AOD is visible, if I unlock my phone and relock but haven't cleared the notifications, the AOD doesn't come back on. Is this normal? 

For example, phone is locked >> notification for WhatsApp comes in and AOD is visible. I unlock my phone, DO NOT clear the notification and relock the phone but AOD doesn't understand that I haven't viewed message so still keep me notified and keep AOD on.

I wouldn't say that's normal. It should continue to show the notifications (app icon) until you open the notification or dismiss it.

Mine doesn't do that. I also tried on another handset which is not on beta

Today the official version of the software has been released. 

Please wait for the update and check if the issue persists. If the issue persists, do not hesitate to report the problem via the Samsung Members app attaching log files .

This is still causing an issue. I have realised today that I don't even need to unlock the screen. If the AOD is on with a notification, if I double tap the screen, it goes to the lock screen but leaving the notifications on the screen/not clearing it and dont unlock the phone but then when the screen is out to sleep again, the AOD does not come back on
