Every time I connect with cabe android auto I have to unlock the phone before it can work 

Is this issue with android auto or UI 7 Beta 2

Have you checked if the option to lunch android auto if phone is locked is ticked? If ticked try remove you car and add it again.
I am on beta I have no issue at all, all working as should.

It's great if you connect wirelessly through a 3rd party add on as I do not had a problem since last update the glitching of audio
Has cleared up
