Hi to all, I just bought a Galaxy J5 2017 smartphone with Andriod 7 and now I want to transfer all data from my old S3 mini with Android 4.2.2.
With Smart Switch I am able to transfer all data but there is one strange thing: in Samsung Notes I cannot adapt old notes that I wrote on my S3, it looks as if it is a sort of screenshot that I cannot adapt (add text, change text). Can I use another notes app that will allow me to edit old notes?

Hi Jim,
Sorry for the empty message earlier!
I think it would be best to use en extractor. This is either an app, or an online service, which extracts the text in an image. You can then copy paste the text into a new note which you can then edit.
I used to have good experiences with this service: http://www.free-ocr.com. If you can't save the image to upload it, a screenshot works here as well. There are others, including apps as well, but I don't have any experiences with these.
Hopefully, this is a workaround that works for you!

Hi @jimhan,
congratulations with your new phone and all the best wishes for 2018.
If it's not possible with Smart Switch, I can try setting up an so called Smart Tutor appointment, so one of my colleagues will contact you and from a distance we can assist you while sharing your screen to ours. We work in periods of 2 hour, so from 8-10, 10-12, 12-2, 2-4, 4-6 and 6-9. Let me know!

Hi Bruce, sorry for not answering sooner, I am not constantly logged in. The Smart Switch app did its job, so all data have been transferred to my new J5; no problems with that. Also the old notes I made with my S3 mini have been transferred and readable with Samsung Notes, but I cannot edit them, so add new text or adapt old text. For Example I have one note with calendar data on which the paper boy did not deliver my morning paper, and every time he misses I want to add that date to the list. But the new Samsung Note app will not let me add or edit text in these old notes.
Can you recommend another app that is capable of this simple editing?
Jim
