How do I retrieve encrypted files off sd-card after factory reset?

Hi allemaal,

In a moment of complete *****ity... I factory reset my phone Samsung Galaxy S7, Android version 7.0, without decrpyting my sd-card. Now it shows the sd-card and all the data inside it but I can't open anything. I really need my data back. It is not only about photos but also all the voice recordings which is for me really months and months of hard work.

Are there any steps or utilities to retrieve the files?

I already tried dr. Fone for Android and Yodot Recovery for Android and the steps explained in here: https://security.stackexchange.com/questions/116750/how-to-decrypt-a-microsd-card-after-a-factory-re....

But none of them worked. Can anyone else please help me out?

nog van harte welkom op de Community!

Heb je ook geprobeerd om de SD kaart in je PC/laptop te pluggen en te kijken of je dan wel bij je bestanden kan?

Zijn deze stappen niet gelukt? 

1. On a PC: Copy (the encrypted and unreadable) contents of the sd card from the phone to your harddrive
2. On the phone: Settings -> Storage -> Sd Card -> Format sd card (this erases all the data on the sd card but don't worry you have a copy on the PC)
3. On the phone: Settings -> Security -> Encrypt sd Card (should be real fast since it's an empty sd card)
4. On the PC: Copy the contents of the sd card onto the phone
5. On the phone: Settings -> Security -> Decrypt sd card (edit: this may take a while depending on how much data was on the card)

Ik heb inderdaad geprobeerd om op mijn pc/laptop bij mijn bestanden te komen. Mijn pc/laptop herkent de bestanden maar kan ze niet openen.

De stappen die jij noemt heb ik al geprobeerd, maar helaas zonder succes.

Ai, dan denk ik dat je het beste bij een specialist terecht kunt die dit wellicht op een andere manier voor je ongedaan kan maken. Vanuit Samsung kan ik je hierin niet verder adviseren. Laat je weten hoe het afloopt?
