S-Pen Writing Without Touching Screen – Galaxy S21 Ultra

Hi Samsung Community,

I've run into a strange issue with my Galaxy S21 Ultra's S-Pen. Starting today, the S-Pen has begun writing or drawing without even touching the screen, about just a few millimeters above it.

This didn't happen before. I've been using the S-Pen for about three weeks now, and everything was working perfectly until this suddenly started.

I've tried searching for solutions or settings to disable this kinda "hover writing" behavior, but haven't found anything useful.

Does anyone know what could be causing this, or how to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your reaction GiantHippo,

Have you also tried clearing the cache via the Recovery menu? If not, turn off your device and connect it to your computer. Then hold down the Volume Up and Power buttons until you see the Android logo. After a few seconds, the Recovery menu will launch. Select "Wipe cache partition" and then "Reboot system now."

Feel free to let us know if this helped.

With kind regards,

Ajay
