There's a game promotion voucher (free in-game content that usually costs money) in the Galaxy store that is being flagged as a prize win, got it on my Tablet too today.

I realise that you might be referring to the Samsung Pay promotion but I refuse to use that. I don't want to give Samsung my card details

That's not the point, I don't want them stored anywhere else than they need to be. Why risk Samsung and/or Curve getting hacked? Cyber fraud is on the increase but if you are happy to chance it that's your prerogative

If samsung got hacked and they took money you'd get it back from the bank

Only if you can categorically prove you did not authorise the transaction yourself, otherwise the bank will refuse to refund. That is not as easy as it sounds for online or contact less payments. It's simply not worth the aggravation. Already had to deal with it once for my Grandmother

Whilst no system is totally  secure would say I am happy  would say  I am  happy with the protection, even if I have not used it a lot over the past year (mostly shopping online)   They use a process called tokenization for maximum  security.    However obviously everyone can make their own judgement.     Anyway I will include some re views of mobile payment systems here.
