I was very suprised when I visited a main supplyer of smart phones and asked for a Samsung J% Sim Free to be told that they are refused such items by Samsung.  Could someone please hazard a reason why this should be?

I would think its Tesco making the business decisions here and not Samsung.

Refurbished typically means it may have a new housing around it and has been fully checked before being sold and should come with a Manufacturing Warranty even if it's a limited version.

I wouldn't say do not buy one as its personal preference.

Situation can be different dependent on where a person resides.

i.e. sometimes a colour of phone or storage capacity is only available in certain countries.

For example the black Note 9 wasn't available in the US until a few months after launch.

Usually this is suggested as market trend and demand etc.

It's in Samsungs best interests to sell phones so I couldn't see them not wanting to sell a phone.

It's also sometimes the networks that decide not to supply a particular phone or one that unlocked to all networks ie sim free.

I suppose they make more money on Pay Monthly Contracts.

Are you able to try other outlets to buy one or one direct from Samsung  ?

The place I went to was Tesco and I suspect that it would be them that would benefit from the no Simcard twist but I've seen an add for a Refurbished for £109 or should refurbished be avoided?
