Where is IR (infra red) on the new phones???

Hi everyone

I wonder why there's no infra red tecnology on the new phones. I have my Galaxy Note 4 and it has IR. It is very useful when you need for remote control.

I hope Samsung phone developers could include it in the next Galaxy S8 or Note 8 otherwise I'll have to keep my Note 4 until this become reality. I don't want choose another brand just for IR unless my Note 4 die.

Does anyone use IR? Would you like to have it the next generation mobile phone?

Sadly they removed this feature becuase of unknown reasons.

I have it on my S6 edge.

Only reason they would have removed it was to save space. With adding in the bigger battery and MSD card slot that would have been the compromise.

I miss the IR. I too hope it comes back to the phones as it was a mega good feature.
