HI, Can anyone help me please?  I have been trying to transfer data from my old Lumia635 to my new S8.  I have followed the prompts and my old phone says it is connected to the Samsung network that was sent from S8, but nothing else seems to be happening, 635 screen says connected, S8 just has the network name and password on it.  I can't navigate away from the screen as when I do, it automatically disconnects from the Samsung network.  Does anybody have any ideas, please?

Hello guys,

Maybe someone is still looking for a solution. I have one.  I've made an app which helps you import your SMS messages from Windows Phone to Android. It is called 'Import SMS from Windows Phone'.

It is Free and has no limit for the messages which can be imported. It has no Ads.

It imports both .vmsg and .msg file formats.. It reads the date format correctly from the .msg file.. If you receive a SMS while you're importing.. you won't lose that SMS. Also, it reads all the diacritics and the emojis.

Simply copy the .vmsg/.msg into your Android device and the app will search for all the backup files. You can select from which numbers you want to import your SMS messages or you can import them all at once.

You can find on Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smsbackup.leonardocezary.smsimporter

Also, if you want to import MMS messages or group conversations from Windows Phone, check out the PRO version called Import SMS from Windows Phone PRO.

You can find it also on Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smsbackup.leonardocezary.smsimporter.pro

Have a nice day!

Hey @JH55!

Have you tried using Smart Switch to transfer your data across?

Find it HERE.

Hi all.

We're all grown-ups here (well, sort of...) so just a post to say be careful with software and apps that aren't offficial or haven't been passed through the checks carried out by the peeps at the Play Store.

The easist way to transfer messages from Windows phone is to use phone to phone data transfer tool.

Another way is to use Google SMS Backup&Restore, you can choose one of them.
