Touch Screen Unresponsive on Home Screen Only - S8

I updated to Android Pie on my S8 on 19/03/19, and for the past 2 days I have been having a lot of problems with the home screen being unresponsive to touch input. I can't click any icons or widgets, and can't swipe to go into other home screens. I can swipe up from the bottom to access the apps list, and my touch screen works perfectly in apps; it is just the home screen where it doesn't work. After a reboot it works for a while, and I don't know what stops it working; I can't keep rebooting my phone. This wasn't a problem before I upgraded to Pie.

I have a similar problem on s8 and s9 pie software , the home screen becomes unresponsive to fix it I have to hit the back button or open a background app then switch back to the home screen only then can I open up phone app or sms app  , although it's actually that I can't open any app on the home screen

I've already cleared the cache partition still the issue continues to happen
