I have been an iPhone user for a good few years. I am all apple’d up with ipad, mac, watch, touch.. as such all my content resides in the cloud and shared across my devices.

i am now seriously considering an S8 but what content will I still be able to access?

thanks

Hi @Natkwak

I was pretty much in the same situation as you. The release of the iPhone 7 made my mind up so I sold my iPhone 6+ and bought the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge.

Then bought the Samsung Galaxy s8.

I also still use a MacBook Air and an iPad Air and iPod Nano 7th Gen.

There are various ways to move information from your iPhone to a Samsung.

One being > Transfer Files from iOS Device to Android using Smart Switch

You can't use iCloud on the Samsung but Samsung has it's own version of cloud back ups with a Samsung Account. Other options such as Google Drive and Dropbox exist.

My calendars sync still so when I input an event on my iPad Air it shows in the calendar on my s8.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra 256Gb in Phantom Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

You're very welcome @Natkwak

It was certainly the right choice for me.

Took around 4-5 days to get used to the way it's settings, menu and ui were different but after that settling in period it's great.

The screen is awesome but the way it's not sandboxed like an iPhone is - is liberating.

Theming out and using other launchers etc.

Being able to choose a 3rd party app to open things like using the Samsung internet app etc instead of the iPhone dictating which app it'll automatically use.

Oh and the option of simply placing an app icon where ever on the home screen you want which Apple seems to think it has to drop automatically into a pre determined grid formation.

I always found myself jailbreaking my iPhone's just to open their true potential but that could cause conflicts between tweaks.

Enjoy the journey.   :winking-face:

Hi, thanks for the input. Sounds like this could be the time I break my allegiance to apple.👍👍

See this guide: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00048655/

Samsung Smart Switch makes it easy to transfer contacts, photos, messages and more from your old device to your new Galaxy. And this guide is supported to transfer data from iPhone to Samsung phone, so you can try.

System-wise, the system that the Samsung Galaxy S7 is equipped with is based on the Android 6.0 deep customization system. We know and believe that the TouchWiz interface is familiar to everyone. This time, the Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge system pays attention to the increased details. if you use s8 it will be equivalent to iphone 8
